Concern for Americans whilst sailing around the world?
[Link] I am growing increasingly concerned over the reception for Americans sailing around the world. I really don't see venturing farther than the Caribbean, or Gulf of Mexico, but am still concerned. What is your opinion of where we should and shouldn't go? First Wind-Powered Ferry Planned for San Francisco Bay

Questions regarding communications while sailing and food preparation.
[Link] What did you use for communications while sailing? Did you have a satellite phone? We have a laptop, while we are at sea, do you have any suggestions for internet access ( I know this can get vastly expensive, where do you draw the line at spending?). A further simple question. In the the Caribbean, what is the best way to clean fruit & vegetables? I am really looking forward to the markets, but am skeptical about the flies that may (or may not) be crawling over them....
